About Us
We are a small pasture-based family farm located in Elmwood,NE - convienently located close to both Omaha and Lincoln. We moved to Nebraska from Georgia where we had a small farm featuring grass-fed meats and a cow share for folks wanting raw milk.
We offer grass-fed meats such as turkeys, chickens, and pork that are all on pasture eat a diet of locally organically grown soy-free grains, fresh milk from our jersey cows, and all the grass and bugs they can find. We use a chicken tractor for our meat chickens moving them to fresh grass daily until they are big enough to turn loose and give them free range of the entire farm.
Our turkeys and laying hens roam free on our farm. Both are fed minimal grains but what grain they do eat is organic, locally grown, and soy-free. The hens are completely free, eating grasses and bugs to their heart's content and feeling the fullness of their 'chicken-ness'. Every day is an egg-hunt over here!
Our pigs are on rotational pasture as are our jersey cows. It is one of our goals that our animals experience a stress-free happy life here on our farm. Our pigs are also fed the same organic grain as our chickens.. the only difference is a slight adjustment to vitamins to meet their unique needs. Our pigs are kept parasite free naturally by keeping them in clean pasture environments and we keep DE in their feed. No need for chemical wormers or parasite control because they are naturally healthy this way.
We offer micro batch artisan cheeses made with milk from our grass-fed jersey cows. Our cows are on pasture 365 days a year. They are rotated through our pastures but always given more than enough room to explore, wander, and do other cow-like things. :-) We do offer them a very small amount of certified organic, locally grown, soy-free grain at milking time that is a treat for them and also offers an easy way for us to slip in naturally sourced and organic approved vitamins, minerals, trace elements, and pro-biotics.

Ingredients
WE have developed our own unique line of sausages. All of our sausages are completely natural recipes using basic spices. Our recipes are simple, none contain MSG in any form, there are no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, or nitrates. We use organic spices as often as possible. Our casings are natural casings. All of our sausages are family friendly, kid-tested. The heat levels on our sausages are mild to light medium. The only exception to this rule is our Cajun... it has a nice kick! Other than that our children enjoy all of our sausages. Family favorite is the Chipotle-Jalepeno.
In the cheese that Laura makes, she uses natural rennet, cultures and salt. We only use sea salt in our cheeses and brines in cheese making. Any other ingredients are kept totally naturally.. sourced locally and organic when ever possible. You will never find an artificial flavor, color, or ingredient in any product from our farm. We developed all of our products for our family first and we eat all of them.
Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
We utilize a rotational pasture grazing system to ensure that the grass our cows are grazing has the optimal nutrition available. We do not use synthetic or chemical fertilizers, weed control, or bug control products on our pasture or land.
We are grateful to be the stewards of this farm and treat our animals and the land we are caretakers for in a holistic fashion, using herbs and natural cures if/when we encounter a medical problem. Antibiotics would be reserved as a last resort and any animal receiving such would be removed from production for an extended period. No hormones are ever given.
Our cheese is currently made at the dairy plant at UNL. We are in the process of building our own state inspected micro cheese plant on our new farm. WE are a Grade A Inspected Dairy in good standing with the state of Nebraska.
All of our meats are processed in a USDA Inspected facility.
